Dance Alive, a Gainesville-based ballet company, put a new twist on “Phantom of the Opera” at the Phillips Center for the Performing Arts Friday night. The ballet company performed “Phantom: a Tale of Obsession,” a production that told the classic love story without words.
UF research center finds increase in consumer confidence, discusses effect

Consumer confidence has reached the highest level in five years this past month and Chris McCarty said it is mostly due to positive economic changes. This increase in confidence could play a roll in the upcoming presidential debates and election.

A farm bill being discussed in Congress that could cut back on food aid has led to a growing movement by Florida religious leaders and other activists to incite opposition to the bill that could potentially cut billions of dollars in food assistance funding, according to the Palm Beach Post.
