A fire on Monday morning damaged Smiley's Antique Mall in Micanopy. There were no injuries reported and the fire was contained to a third of the building.

The building, located at 17020 SE County Road 234, required a "dump truck operation" to bring water to the structure because of a lack of fire hydrants, according to Alachua County Fire Rescue.

The fire was under control within about an hour according to Stanley Young, a Rescue Lieutenant with Alachua County Fire Rescue who was part of the team dispatched to Smiley’s. The cause of the fire is currently unknown and under investigation.
