Gainesville police are searching for a man who they say forced himself onto a woman Saturday night in his car.

Christopher Gonzalez-Cruz, 24, met a 19-year-old woman Saturday at Grog House in midtown Gainesville across from the University of Florida, according to a news release today from Gainesville police.

Gonzalez-Cruz and the victim went to his car afterward to “make out,” but Gonzalez-Cruz forced her into sexual intercourse, the release said. The female victim then yelled, and Gonzalez-Cruz sped away in his car.

UF police noticed Gonzalez-Cruz speeding and pulled him over, but he fled on foot and escaped.

In April 2015, Gonzalez-Cruz was given a trespass warning for the UF campus.

UF emailed a warning to the campus about the incident this morning.
