Gainesville Trash Service Picking Up Hurricane Yard Waste This Week

Gainesville's trash service is beginning to collect yard waste and storm debris.

Beginning Monday, residents can leave downed branches and small tree limbs on the curb in paper bags. Plastic bags will not be collected.

Waste Corp of America, the city's collection service, will be making special arrangements to pick up the yard waste. Only branches less than five feet and less than 40 pounds will be picked. All debris must be free of metal or glass.

All yard waste should be picked up by the end of the week and will be picked up on your normal trash day, according to Chip Skinner, Gainesville Public Works spokesperson.
