The Alachua County Sheriff's Office announced the suspension of a deputy Tuesday following a domestic disturbance incident.
Deputies responded to Monday's incident involving Deputy Shon McGuigan, who has been on the force since 2008, and began a criminal investigation, according to a news release from the sheriff's office.
The specifics of the incident and where it happened were unclear Tuesday.
McGuigan has been placed on administrative suspension while to look into the case.
