The University of Florida’s Board of Trustees approved 2.5 percent salary raises Thursday for UF faculty.
The UF chapter of the United Faculty of Florida and the University of Florida administration gave presentations on increases in faculty salaries.
Candi Churchill, UFF's service unit director, said the faculty had proposed a 5.25 percent salary increase.
Steven M. Scott, chair of the Board of Trustees, said there are more than 100 million unfunded, needed repairs and that funds are well-restricted.
“We have a duty as a board to protect our funds,” Scott said.
