At least thirteen people were injured in a traffic accident on I-75 northbound in Marion County around 4 p.m. today.
Ten were transported by ground to area local hospitals, while three were airlifted to UF Health in Gainesville. Two are currently in critical condition, according to Josh Wehinger, spokesman for Columbia County Fire and Rescue.
Three vehicles were involved: a tow truck, a silver Toyota 4 Runner, and a White Ford E-350 van, which carried more than a dozen people and accounted for a majority of the injuries, according to Sgt. Tracy Hisler-Pace of the Florida Highway Patrol.
Those traveling north on I-75 are encouraged to use caution around mile marker 436. One lane is currently open.
