In Florida, it’s David versus Goliath in NCAA men’s baskeball tournament

The NCAA men’s basketball tournament is back in action on Friday. The Cinderella squad, Florida Gulf Coast University, hits the court against its long dominant in-state rival: the University of Florida. UF knows about post-season success. It won the men’s basketball national championship in 2006 and 2007.

Today the Florida Board of Governors unanimously confirmed the selection of Dr. Kent Fuchs as the 12th president of the University of Florida, taking over Bernie Machen’s position.
Janine Sikes, assistant vice president of media relations and public affairs at the University of Florida, emailed the documents to media outlets at about 1 p.m. on Wednesday. Sikes said the university will make no statement.
W. Kent Fuchs, Provost for Cornell University Ph.D., has been selected as the University of Florida’s 12th president-designate.
