UF’s BugFest Opens To The Public For The First Time

The UF Entomology Club’s fifth annual BugFest opened to the public for the first time on Saturday. Entomology students helped give local children a hands-on experience with bugs, from handling exotic critters to tasting bug-infused cuisine.

UF Engineering Professor Detained In United Arab Emirates Returns Home

University of Florida professor John Schueller, Ph.D., was in Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates for a conference was he was detained for taking photos of two embassies. Schueller returned home on Wednesday.

Employee Injured At University of Florida Construction Site

University spokesperson, Steve Orlando, confirmed one employee was injured at the construction around the renovation of the Stephen C. O’Connell Center.


Robert Alan Black, Ph.D., spoke with WUFT News on Wednesday about his experience in the United Arab Emirates after he was arrested. Like University of Professor John Schueller, Ph.D., Black was arrested for taking photographs in a restricted area.
