Police officials encourage college students to “think about safety”
As the start of fall semester approaches, many students will experience living away from home for the first time. At a time like this more than ever, it is important for students to be aware and think about safety. The University of Florida Police Department offers several resources and programs for students to increase safety in and around campus. In our quest for safety tips, Florida’s 89.1 WUFT-FM’s Christina Lob spoke with UPD Captain Jeff Holcomb for advice.

A Panama City Beach man accused of breaking into dozens of business across the state of Florida was arrested and is currently being held at the Bay County Jail under a $975,000 bond. Dwayne Bruce Officer, 43, is suspected of breaking into 20 Gainesville businesses the night of June 8.
