Florida Tax Watch releases list of budget turkeys


Budget turkeys are items that are in the proposed state budget which it finds to have circumvented typical approval procedures or benefit a limited area.  Chris Peralta spoke with Vice President of Tax Research at Florida Tax Watch Kurt Wenner about what makes certain projects “turkeys” and about a few projects in the area that made the list.

About 74 percent of registered voters cast ballots in the 2016 general election, according to a WUFT News analysis of the election results from each of Florida’s 67 county supervisors of elections. In 2012, it was 72 percent, according to the Florida Department of State.
