Extinguishing the County Line Fire remains problematic

A fire near the border of Georgia known as the county line fire is now 50% contained. It has spread across nearly 35,000 acres. Florida’s 89.1, WUFT-FM’s Cameron Taylor spoke with Southern Area Type Two Incident Team Fire Information Officer John Bearer about the current situation with the county line fire and when he expects it to be fully contained.

A unanimous vote by the Hernando County Commission approved plans for Hernando County Utilities to redesign plans to expand current wastewater treatment plant. The redesign will cost about $300,000, said Susan Goebel-Canning, the director of environmental services.
