Newberry to reconsider fairgrounds bid
The City of Newberry will likely pull out of its bid to move the Alachua County fairgrounds to the Canterbury Showplace. Newberry Mayor Bill Conrad says the city will continue its plans for sports tourism in other ways.
He says the city is reconsidering its plans because of poor feedback from neighboring Gainesville.
He says commissioners will likely discuss the final decision at their meeting Monday.
