Bustling downtown brings weekend watch for police

UF Homecoming, Hemp Fest and Occupy Gainesville will be at the top of the Gainesville Police Department’s safety watch list this weekend. GPD Corporal Angelina Valuri says GPD is not changing protocol for the Homecoming football game, but will be more concentrated in Downtown Gainesville.

Valuri says GPD is not predicting any problems this weekend but wants to make sure everyone attending these events stays safe.
