It’s been an annual event each fall. The annual University of Florida Joint Civic Luncheon, which was to promote town-gown relations, will not be held this year. The luncheon traditionally featured the UF President and the head football coach as speakers. UF spokeswoman Janine Sikes says although many have looked forward to this event over the past decades, this year, the university chose to skip it.
