GPD needs help solving recent sexual assault case

Gainesville Police are asking residents for help in finding a local rapist. 29 year old, Angeliqu Perrin has come forward about being raped and brutally beaten to try and help catch the man responsible. She says the rape occured after she left the Copper Monkey restaurant at 17th and University Avenue and accepted a ride from a man who says he was going to take her to her Northwest Gainesville home. Instead he took her to the Windmeadows Trailer Park behind Butler Plaza and beat and raped her. She eventually got away by crawling through the woods and climbing a fence where someone found her and called 911. The wanted rapist is described as white, about 6 feet tall, in his early 30’s with a pot belly. Police say he may be driving a gray Toyota Tundra extended cab pickup truck. GPD spokes woman Sharna Senn says residents should stay cautious.
