Levy County fire triples in size while a shelter gives residents relief from smoke

The First Baptist Church in Bronson has opened as a shelter to give residents a break from smoke coming from area wildfires. A church spokesperson says the shelter is open to anyone and will remain open until it is no longer needed. The Bad Land Fire has burned a total of 1,650 acres and is continuing to grow. Strong winds continue to push the smoke into Alachua County.
