Today’s rain helping to dampen area wildfire threats


Continued rainfall has helped lower the risk of serious wildfire in Taylor, Dixie, Madison and Lafayette counties. Wildfire mitigation specialist Chelsea Parker says there is still a danger in the area, but their risk is low enough that they were able to send firefighters and equipment to help with larger fires in the Okeefenokee Swamp area and Trenton.
