Hairspray takes to the stage at P.K.Yonge’s Performing Arts Center this weekend

The musical Hairspray won eight Tony Awards and grossed over $200-million in the film adaptation starring John Travolta. The Performing Arts Center students at P.K. Yonge in Gainesville hope to continue the success of the show this weekend. WUFT-FM’s Lauren Buchwald talked with the Performing Arts Director Sherwin Macintosh about the lively musical. Macintosh says, the uplifting show will send the audience home with an important message.
