Sizing up the Gator basketball teams

When the Gator basketball teams take the court this season, there will be the usual freshmen making their collegiate debut in the orange and blue. Both the mens’ and womens’ rosters feature freshmen from all around the world. WUFT-FM’s Matthew Cretul has more on some “not-so-new” newcomers. You can catch Scottie Wilbekin when the men open their season on Thursday, October 28th as they take on Florida Tech in an exhibition match. Jaterra Bonds and the women’s team open their season on Saturday, November 13th as they welcome the UCF Knights to the O’Dome.

Skiles Out As Coach Of Orlando Magic

Following the conclusion of a frustrating regular season, Scott Skiles has stepped down as coach of the Orlando Magic after just one year. Skiles was 35-47 this season, his lone year leading the Magic — the team that he spent five seasons with as a player as well. The team said a search for a new coach is starting immediately.
