Republican Keith Perry has received about 55 percent of the vote in the race for the District 21 seat in the Florida State House of Representatives, according to results from the Florida Election Watch.
Andrew Morey, the Democratic candidate, had about 44 percent of the vote, as of 9:30 p.m.
Perry recently received attention for featuring Albert the Alligator, the University of Florida mascot, in his political advertisements. The University Athletic Association requested that the campaign discontinue use of the ad.
